American Medical Center was founded on the belief that the people of Guam deserved better access to world-class medical care. On May 2005, AMC opened in Upper Tumon with 4 physicians and a lean medical and administrative staff. The founders, Dr. Hoa Nguyen and Dr. Vincent Akimoto never strayed from their vision of providing the best medical care in Guam. Being physician-owned and operated, AMC continues to lead in delivering top rated medical care to our island.

We now have 2 separate locations fully equipped with lab, pharmacy and x-ray services. We are over 10 physicians strong with more scheduled to join. We attribute this growth to never wavering from our founders’ original vision of always striving to provide the best medical care to our people.

- Growing our services to provide easier access to basic primary care and promoting preventative medicine to keep our island healthy.
- Forging new relationships with hospitals around the world. We have collaborative relationships with St. Luke’s Global City Manila, Cedar Sinai Los Angeles, Taiwan Adventist Hospital Taipei.
- Bringing state-of-the-art medical technology to improve safety and services to our patients with electronic medical records and real-time telemedicine communication with our partner hospitals.
- Giving back locally by volunteering medical services such as K-12 school annual physicals. Giving back abroad by planning, staffing and supplying medical missions to disaster ridden areas such as our multiple trips to Tacloban after Super Typhoon Yolanda.

"Instead of turning away patients when they need us most,
we have opened a new clinic to serve the people of Guam.
That is what we are about."
-Dr. Hoa Nguyen.
